I am really honored by this award and wanted to share it with everyone.

Dale Alan Schmitt Photography is honored by peers and jurors for high-quality photography

Pittsburgh, PA. – Dale Alan Schmitt of Dale Alan Schmitt Photography in Pittsburgh, PA. was named a Gold Medalist during Professional Photographers of America's 2022 International Photographic Competition. Schmitt's work will be on display at the upcoming Imaging USA, to be held at the Gaylord Opryland Resort-Nashville, TN, from January 22-24, 2023. Imaging USA is one of the largest annual conventions and expos for professional photographers.

A panel of 36 eminent jurors from across the United States selected the top photographs from over 5,000 total submitted entries at PPA headquarters in Atlanta. Judged against a standard of excellence, 174 images were selected for the General Collection and 1013 (roughly 20 percent) were selected for the esteemed Imaging Excellence Collection—the best of the best. The Imaging Excellence Collection images will all be published in the much-anticipated "Imaging Excellence Collection" book by Marathon Press.

The level of the award is determined by how many of those four images receive the highest possible honor: acceptance into the PPA Imaging Excellence Collection, which is displayed at photographic exhibitions, conventions and other photography events. Schmitt was named a Gold Medalist, meaning that two of their four merited images entered the PPA Imaging Excellence Collection. In 2022, they were one of only 113 Gold Medalists.

    About PPA:

Founded in 1868, Professional Photographers of America (PPA) is the largest and longest-standing nonprofit photography trade association. It currently helps 34,000 professionals elevate their craft and grow their business with resources, protection, and education, all under PPA’s core guiding principle of bridging the gap between photographers and consumers.

MEET the ARTISTS Day ~ February 23, 2021 10:00am to 1:00pm at the North Hills Art Center's "Where Love Dwells" Art Exhibit. I will be sharing the gallery with my friends, Best in Show winner Betty Trout and Honorable Mention winner Lynn Jacques We will display additional works to discuss and which will be available for sale. Great gift ideas supporting a great cause, Hello Neighbor Network. Lynn Jacques will demonstrate how she creates her award winning collages. I did create three new pieces for this event. One piece is getting allot of attention, "Bloom" - it's showing all sorts of darkness, maybe crazy opposition around us, but there is always that bright safe spot. The original is not available, but I had many request for prints. Hope you will check it out and let me know your comments.
